It’s been a busy start to the year for lunchtime sports clubs.
Congratulations to Tutbury who won the first Inter House competition of the year, in cross country. Well done to the individual winners who will be selected to represent Windsor Park at upcoming district events.
It was lovely to welcome our Head Students and House Captains to the stage in the whole school assembly to introduce them to everyone.
Some great football was played at the KS3 football tournament. A big thank you goes out to the TAHS students who refereed the matches and to everyone who came to cheer the players on. Congratulations to the WP Blue team who were the overall winners.
The year 5’s had a wonderful day at the National Emergency Services museum in Sheffield. They looked at the history of the police, fire and ambulance service since Victorian times and tried on lots of different uniforms. They also explored police cells, did their fingerprints and of course visited the gift shop!
Y8 set off on Wednesday for a 3-day adventure to France’s Opal Coast. After an early start they arrived at Château d’ Ebblinghem, which is situated just outside Boulogne sur Mer. The Eco Club had a very busy day during the Easter Holiday. They weeded the flower beds, tidied up the quad, made a bug house and planted spring flowers.
The Headteacher’s end of term assembly rewarded and recognised student achievements across academic subjects and extra curricular activities – well done to all the students who received certificates.
It was an absolute pleasure to take the girls to Denstone College to play in their first netball fixture of the year. There are more matches coming up so I look forward to seeing even more students involved in the game. Mrs White.
