We were delighted to welcome Jo Marsh, a flautist in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, to a special assembly this afternoon. This year the orchestra is celebrating its 80th anniversary so to celebrate Jo has set herself a personal challenge. She is visiting 80 schools to play her flute and to talk about the orchestra.
She played a piece of music specially written by the composer Sir John Rutter for her school visits, answered Q&As from the students and talked about being part of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Jo showed how passionate she is about music, inspiring and encouraging a new generation of young people to have a love of music.
